Sitting at the best seats available at The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron on Saturday I had the pleasure of experiencing ‘The Vector Light show'. Powered by a mix of leading technology, including solar, battery and peer – to – peer systems, the vector lights transformed the Harbour Bridge and the waters below into a spectacular hue of colours from yellows to oranges, greens and blues.

I was fortunate enough to capture some amazing photos of the colour changes from the balcony at the RNZYS.

The show run’s from 6pm till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays for 3 weeks, to celebrate The Matariki Festival of the Maori New Year. The lights and sounds of nature take you on a journey reflecting on the past, celebrating the present, and looking ahead to the future. So gather your family and friends and head down to Westhaven Marina before it finishes.

Some suggestions of other places to watch the Vector light show from are:

  • Auckland Waterfront
  • Little Shoal Bay,
  • Northcote Bayswater Marina
  • Mt Victoria,
  • Devonport Harbour View
  • beach Reserve, Te Atatu Peninsula
  • Queens Parade, Devonport
  • Sentinel Beach, Herne Bay
  • Bastion Point Mt Eden
